A Smart Monitor is used for continuous monitoring of heart rate and respiration in a home, environment. Its primary function is the detection of central apnea. Its secondary function is the measurement of heart rate. The monitor alerts you if either of these activities exceeds the limits prescribed by the physician. Patient alarm limits are set by the health care professional before the monitor is delivered to the patient. During monitoring, when the breathing effort and heart activity are not within these set boundaries, an indicator light comes on and an alarm sounds.
CIS’s smart monitor technicians closely follow all testing requirements by placing each smart monitor through a rigorous test to ensure patient-ready functionality upon delivery. All smart monitors receive a new battery, a proper fitting bag, as well metal patient cables unless otherwise noted.
